DIY Mother's Day Gifts
Mother's Day is on May 13th this year, and if you want to show mom some love with a hand crafted gift, I've got some ideas for you.
If you haven't guessed by now, I am a nature lover. I love dyeing with plants, I love eating plants, I love receiving flowers and hugging trees. What can I say? This big beautiful earth of ours is just awesome.
With that, all of my DIY gifts will be nature based filled with happy, living beauty that is sure to make any mama smile!
Build a Terrarium
Succulents are one of my favorite plants to work with because they are easy to keep alive. Yes, while I AM obsessed with nature, I have a black thumb and can't seem to keep plants green and thriving. Cue: succulents.

Edible Flower Shortbread Cookies
Yes, you read that right. There are some BEAUTIFUL recipes where you can use real edible flowers to make a batch of shortbread cookies. They turn out SO beautifully, and will definitely make mom light up when she opens a box of them.
Check out the full tutorial here.
Naturally Dyed Scarf
Being a natural dyer myself, how could I leave out gifting mom a beautiful, botanically dyed item! There are SO many sources of beautiful color from mother nature, and the entire rainbow spectrum can be achieved.
You can grab a DIY indigo kit from people like Graham Keegan, which helps you to create an indigo vat as a newbie!
Grab one of those kits here.
Wildflower Hike or Walk
Now that Spring has officially arrived, there are tons of opportunities to gaze in awe at the beauty surrounding us! If you live close to mom, why not pack a small lunch and take a hike to see the wildflowers in bloom? There are lots of trails for different levels of hiking experience, and many places to just walk around and check out the plants.
Much love to all the mamas out there, especially my own!
Happy Mothers Day all!
