Self Care Tips for Summer

Summer is the season of vacation, relaxation and good vibes. 

Pool days, beach days, warmer weather and outdoor activities surround us, and it's the perfect season to refresh and reset in preparation for the rest of the year. 

Here are 5 self care tips for summer to get you ready for the second half of the year! 

Get Outside

No really. Go breathe in the fresh air. Get some sunshine on your face. Walk in the grass with no shoes on. Feel the warm earth under your toes. This is a great way to release some stress and ground down, which is soooo good for you. 

Take a Staycation

Travel this Summer doesn't have to be insanely expensive. Take little overnight weekend trips to nearby locations. I've got suggestions for that here and here. 

Go for a Swim

Whether its a lake, the ocean, a pool or even just taking a long shower, get into water. I am a total mermaid and the feeling I get from floating around or just being cleansed with a great long shower is beautiful. An outdoor shower is even more beautiful. 

Go on an Adventure

Summer is synonymous with adventure. Find your inner child and go do something totally random and fun. Jump in the car on a Saturday and visit somewhere you've been eyeing all year. Go on a hike that you've been wanting to do but just haven't found the time. Little activities like this will make it feel like you explored ALL OVER even if you barely left your backyard. 

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Make sure you're drinking tons of water this season! It's the best way to keep your body energized and happy during the warmer months. Add some lemon, mint, or other herbs to spice it up a bit while still taking care of yourself. 

Self care goes beyond the physical. Taking care of our souls is incredibly important, and makes for a happier life. Go out and enjoy it.
